After checking out cashcrate, I checked into the promotion company and found they promote over 4,000 contests worldwide. Come to find out, they collect all your private information and SHARE it with the company they are working with. While the promotion company does NOT sell your  personal information, they do NOT stop the company they are working with from doing so.

For example: Their current promotion is Pizza Hut is giving away gas grills. You fill out the online application, and all that personal information (name, age, DOB, address, phone, email, etc) is shared with the promotion company AND Pizza HUT! Now the promotion company will not share/sell your information to anyone else, BUT they will SHARE that information with Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut can share/sell that information with whomever they choose.Let's say Pizza Hut sells your personal information to a drug company, they inturn can sell it to whom ever they choose. Now you start getting a LOT of telemarketing calls, spam, junk mail. But Wait! Didn't you sign up on the Do Not Call list? Hmmmmmmmmmm... I wonder WHERE these companies got their information from?

By signing up for promotions, contests, etc. You are putting your identity on the net. READ ALL PRIVACY POLICIES CAREFULLY!!!! IF you have to apply for a credit card, they ARE going to check your credit report and it WILL SHOW ON THE REPORT!!!!! If you are trying to get a mortgage - THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS!!! Furthermore, some companies will sell your personal information to other companies - BEWARE!!!!

here is one  part of the promotion company's privacy policy (standard policy) you may want to read:

"By signing up on a Site, You are opting-in to receive offers and promotions via emails, telemarketing, text messaging and other forms of communication from us and third parties with whom we share your information. If You do not wish to receive these communications, You may opt-out at any time, by following the directions in the communication or within the account section of the Web Site; however, if you unsubscribe after we have shared your information with third parties, you may need to also unsubscribe with the third parties sending you offers and promotions. Please note that if you provide your cell phone number to us, you may incur charges from your cell phone provider for the receipt of calls or text messages sent by us or other third parties with whom we share your information, and you specifically agree and consent to receive such calls and text messages.  "

ONE MORE THING - I found this blog about Cashcrate that you may want to read for yourself.  Personally, I found it to be very, VERY informative.
